"Just wanted to let you know that we went to your restaurant for Valentine's Day with another couple. We have travelled the world and eaten  at many wonderful restaurants.  The meal we had there on February 14th, was as good as any we have had.  Thanks for a wonderful meal."

"Me and my husband took my parents this past Saturday night for their anniversary! Everything we had was out of this world...mussels, risotto, lobster, tenderloin, pork belly and creme brulé.

Everything was outstanding. My mom is still talking about our meal and will be for years to come. We also enjoyed your signature cocktail, very nice! Atmosphere, food, and service was top notch! What a fabulous addition to the Uptown Saint John night life...well done! We will be back for sure!"

"Nice experience at Decimal 81 this evening...atmosphere was wonderful, simply decorated, warm and very quaint! Music was wonderful and very appropriate for the experience. Wine selection was bit limited for my liking however what is available is nice.

The beef, scallop and tomato tartine was simply delicious! We followed that with the duck confit and the braised lobster. Both were wonderful and well presented! The great attention to detail and service was refreshing! I would rate our experience an 8 out of 10!"

"Last night I took a party of five to Decimal 81 and without it being an April Fools joke, I have to honestly say this was the best meal and dining experience I have ever had in New Brunswick and east of Montreal.

There are only a few good restaurants in Saint John and this one has the promise of shining loudly for its setting and menu. Opera Bistro is the other excellent one in the city which I love and its offerings are constantly excellent.

Decimal 81 is very attractive and so very comfortable, in a wonderfully restored vintage building with large storefront windows on Princess Street in Saint John.  The decor is warm and inviting and the chairs (always a key to me!) were very comfortable---no hard wooden benchs here!.

Better yet was the menu, french inspired and with a great respect to the sea and local community.   Oysters, scallops, mussels, salmon, halibut but the Australia frenched lamb was perfect.  We shardd various appetizers which were all great although the seared foi gras was  a bit small and disappointing.

In fact everything else was perfect and I can only recommend this in the highest of terms as the best dining experience I have ever had in the Maritimes!.

At times I thought I was on the east side of Manhattan or in a great Montreal restaurant.  The wine list was also exceptional and not over the top either.  Careful attention was paid to quality offerings at reasonable prices. ($30-50 range).

There are only two minor regrets which can easily be fixed.  The owner needs to install a blind on the large windows as a vintage streetlight becomes a bit glaring after dark, just slightly annoying but not upsetting. Secondly there is a prix fix which the chef is overly strident over and he insists only serving to all guests at a table---- but one cannot demand of all ones guests that they chose this 5 or 6 course meal, even if it is very resonably priced at $55. I think he should show flexibility on this, and so what is some guests have a dish before others!

I cannot wait to return and I look forward to also enjoy lunchs there in the back patio area which should open up shortly when they have "weather" in the port city.

A further feature is the friendly nature of the other patrons who shared openly their delight with others.  True Maritime hospitality at better than its best!."
